A very popular, hardy, and attractive deciduous flowering climbing vine native to Japan.

Produces masses of long drooping clusters of pea-like, highly fragrant, purple-mauve flowers up to 40cm long during spring.  They put on a spectacular display!

A vigorous growing vine with dense, dark-green pinnate leaves which consist of 15 lance-shaped leaflets which also put on a nice display in autumn.
